I had started planning this year's Easter tablescape much earlier in the season before there was any talk of self isolation and social distancing due to the corona virus. I had in mind that I'd be having my parents and other family members over. Now all that has changed of course and I'll be sharing my actual Easter tablescape for TWO in an upcoming post but here's a look at what I had envisioned for this year's Easter celebration.
My inspiration began with this set of salad plates from Pier 1 that I purchased prior to all our Canadian Pier 1 stores announcement that they were closing. :(
Secondly, I knew I wanted to incorporate two of these blue table runners I got at Ikea earlier this year.
The greenery placemats on the runner and under the charger are also by Pier 1 and added a spring-like vibe to the place settings.
The salad plates came in a set of 4 with each plate being a little different but all similar in colour and design.
I paired them with some aqua coloured dinner plates I already owned.
Little nests filled with eggs were placed in some glass appetizer bowls and set on top of the salad plate.
Forks were tucked inside the napkin rings above the napkins.
I used coordinated but slightly different coloured napkins throughout the table. A faux blossom stem was an added embellishment.
My acrylic knife rests were brought out for this special occasion tablescape.
Placecards were printed from the computer and arranged at each place setting.
I chose to use my etched butterfly stemware as it is so perfect for spring.
A white birdcage filled with greenery and a faux candle was elevated on a riser and became the centerpiece.
A little birdie was placed on each side of the birdcage.
Arranged along the length of the table, eucalyptus and blossom stems provide a hiding place for some little bunnies.
I placed the bunnies so that guests on both sides of the table could enjoy them.
Coordinating coloured eggs were tucked in here and there.
An overview of the table...

Have your plans for Easter dinner changed?
These are difficult days and we all need to do our part by staying home and self isolating in order to prevent the spread of this terrible virus so I am prepared to adapt even if it means that the Easter celebration looks a bit different this year.
Thanks for visiting!
Take care my friends!
