Harper with her mommy & daddy
I could have gone out and bought all things cutesy for the tablescape but instead, opted to use what I had on hand.
Little teddy bears, gingerbread people, a tiny tree and a stocking were set atop the guest of honour's plate.
I chose a red and white colour combo rather than a pink one as I felt it was more Christmas-y.
I made little signs and taped them onto some small chalkboards I had. The little ceramic teddy bears on the table were gifts my kids gave me years ago.
The centerpiece was put together with small Christmas ornaments placed on a riser in the middle of the table.
The little girl teddy bear is riding a rocking horse next to Santa and Frosty.
Here is Harper riding the rocking horse my dad made for her mommy years ago. (My mom is holding her)
String lights were woven throughout the centerpiece that ran the length of the table.
To create a softer babyish look and to represent snow, I used pieces of feather boas to encircle the chargers.
The stockings (and Santas on other plates) are actually cutlery holders that I stuffed with tissue.
Melamine tumblers were given a makeover by attaching felt snowmen (cutlery holders) on the outside with tape.
This is Harper's mommy's place setting.
I made the placecards on my computer and glued them on to gingham patterned paper. Here's daddy's spot.
It felt extra special to create a placecard with my grandma name of "Mimi" on it.
And Harper's grandpa is going by his German heritage grandpa name of "Opa".
It was so fun to create this tablescape in honour of Harper's First Christmas...
...but it was even more fun to see her checking it out and playing with the toys on her plate while she ate in her highchair.
Oh, what a special Christmas it was!!
Me with my girls ❤❤

ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful way to celebrate a first Christmas! Everything turned out adorably and festive. Harper is precious and would bring a party to any place. Except maybe New Years. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWell, Harper is an adorable baby! I hope she will look back on the photos when she is a little older and see how much her "Mimi" loves her to make such a special table setting in her honor. You know you will have to continue the tradition now with future grandchildren...but you will love doing it! The table had so many special touches...so delightful. I saw your post over at "A Stroll Thru Life" blog party.
