This is a tablescape I put together for last year's New Year's Eve but I never got it posted. Hope you enjoy seeing it now.
Gold and black were combined for a dramatic and celebratory effect.
The place setttings consisted of a gold charger plate and flatware. Dinner and salad plates in white with gold rims were added.
Black cloth napkins were encircled with gold napkin rings embellished with gold accents.
Here, I chose some gold tones grapes.
Here, I chose some gold tones grapes.
And here, I placed some gold berry picks as an accent to the napkin ring.
Gold votive holders add to the festive vibe.
Martini glasses were used as placecard holders.
Besides the placecard, they were filled with acrylic and glass pieces, some curling ribbon and a glittered apple.
The stemware included a champagne glass and an amber coloured wine glass.
A white table runner with a gold star pattern runs the length of the table. A black feather boa was placed on top of it.
The centerpiece began with this glass vase filled with gold beads, black ornaments and topped with some fireworks-looking accents. Battery operated mini lights were placed inside.
A similar arrangement filled these other glass vases.
Black party hats and horns were also incorporated into the centerpiece.
The table is set for a festive dinner party to bring in the New Year.
Even the chandelier got some party streamers added to it.

ReplyDeleteToday 31st is New Year's Eve in Japan.
New Year’s Eve is called “Oomisoka” in Japanese.
We eat soba noodles called “toshikoshi soba” (year-crossing soba) to wish for a long lasting life. On New Year’s Eve, soba noodle shops are crowded with many people from morning till night.
Also, a major house cleaning is done by the whole family. This major house cleaning is thought as a ritual to give a pleasant welcome to God on New Year’s Day.
At night time, many people get together at countdown events.Others stay at home and watch television programs. The most well known one is the “Kouhaku Utagassen”, an annual singing contest.
At Buddhist temples, huge bells are hit 108 times during midnight to get rid of all evil desires.

Pretty table! The black and gold combination definitely will let your guests know a party is in store. I was particularly drawn to your centerpiece. We generally prefer to stay in on New Year's Eve, but tonight we're splurging on a great restaurant. Happy New Year! All the best for 2019
