For this year's summer decor on the etagere, I went with a total beach theme. Even though we don't live near the ocean, this type of vibe always speaks of summertime to me.
Blues, whites and greens were combined in the form of shells, sea-grasses, lanterns and mason jars on a neutral textured background.
Here's the full view but let me take you on a shelf-by-shelf tour.
The top shelf.
The middle of the shelf features a woven vase filled with faux sea grasses.
Sand coloured pillar candles provide height to the display.
Blue mason jars with shells were tied with white rope and raffia.
The 2nd shelf
A blue mason jar lantern atop a white pedestal sits in the center of this shelf.
Sea grasses in a basket and jar candles atop white plates were placed on each side of this shelf.
Don't forget to try using some of your dishes when creating displays.
These shell-shaped appetizer plates made the perfect risers as well as coordinate with the theme.
Let's move on to the shelf below this one.
The 3rd shelf
A white lantern and blue glass buoy sit in the middle of this shelf.
To the left, I placed a rustic duck decoration...
...and on the right, a ceramic shell and blue candleholder fill the space.
Moving on to the bottom shelf
The 4th shelf
Another rustic duck, ceramic shell on a pedestal plate and seagrasses in a blue vase were placed on the left.
These shells were from HomeSense many years ago.
To the right, a blue lantern, mason jar with shells and a wire basket carry on the beach vibe.
The cloth napkins in the basket are the only new items I used in the decor on the shelves.
They are from Pier 1 this year and were a birthday gift from my son. I love the beach-y colours in them.
And that's my etagere all decorated for summer.
