With the stretch of hot weather we've had lately, I find myself dreaming of how nice it would be to have a place by the sea where one could not only cool off but also relax and unwind listening to the waves lap against the shore. Seaside living would definitely have its perks.
Since that is not about to happen anytime soon, I set out to create a tablescape with a bit of a seaside vibe in our backyard.
I'll just have to pretend the cedar shrubs in the background are palm trees...
...and that this structure we call a cabana actually is one and is next to some water!
Let's take a closer look at the table setting.
The colours and items I used depict a seaside theme.
My inspiration began with these little buckets I picked up at our local Dollar Store.
I was also inspired by these coral shaped placemats I got at Superstore.
Here's a look at the place setting I put together.
The dish stack.
I used the little pails to hold a cloth napkin, the flatware, a placecard and a faux grass orb.
An aqua coloured votive holder sits next to the bucket.
Couldn't resist using my waves & bubbles stemware.
The centerpiece items were anchored by putting everything in a wooden tray.
Two blue toned jar candles were placed atop some driftwood coloured candleholders.
These little pails filled with faux grass were placed next to the candles. Seashell covered orbs and blue glass beads filled the spaces in the tray.
Blue mason jars filled with shells sit next to the tray.
I tied up the corners of the aqua coloured tablecloth as it was a bit too long.
I used tiny clothespins to attach these grass orbs to the edges.
The view towards the sundeck where the barbeque stands ready to grill the freshly caught shrimp.
I've definitely had some fun dreaming of seaside living with this tablescape.
Do you live near the water or are you a dreamer also?
