Garden Themed Spring Table in Blue and Green

Is it feeling spring-like where you are? The sun is shining here today and I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming season.  My most recent tablescape captures that vibe.

This garden themed tablescape for two was designed using a new-to-me  spring colour scheme of blue and lime green.

My inspiration began when I was recently gifted two of these cute bowls with a potted plant pattern inside. I loved their colours and the potted plants made me think of spring gardening.

I featured the bowls by placing them atop a place setting dish stack of blue, white and lime green.

In keeping with the garden theme, I layered a faux greenery mini-wreath under the bowls.

When dining, I removed the wreath before eating because, as you can see, it  makes the bowl a bit unlevel...

...however, the initial presentation is lovely with the greenery surrounding the bowl.  If you found some larger wreaths, you could leave them there for the first course.

The napkin rings I used were also in keeping with a garden theme.

I was gifted these napkin rings quite a few years ago and was so happy I thought to use them for this tablescape.

A faux tulip and tealight candle were added as extra embellishments to the place settings.

Cobalt blue stemware and silver flatware complete the look.

I didn't have a coordinating table runner so I decided to create my own using cloth napkins.

I folded three of the blue cloth napkins in half and placed them the length of the table. I should have left the green napkins off for this pic so you could see the "seams" of where the blue napkins joined up.

The green cloth napkins were also folded in half and placed over the ends of the blue napkins for a seamless look.

The centerpiece was then created on top of this makeshift table runner.

A trio of these faux greenery plants (Ikea) were placed down the middle of the table.

I used these green pots that I already had to hold the Ikea greenery.

Faux white tulips were placed in milk glass vases and set beside the greenery.

A little white birdie was set on each side, in between the greenery and the tulips.

I always love it when a new dish can inspire a whole tablescape...

...and this one definitely has me dreaming of spring!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Lori,

What a wonderful spring vibe with your blue, lime green, and white tablesetting. Your idea of using folded napkins to make a runner is ingenious and the variations are endless. Why didn't I ever think of that? I'm off to try a few of my own. Jan
