Tiered Tray Decorated for Canada Day

In my last post, I showed you how I decorated my kitchen sideboard for Canada Day and now I'm sharing a look at the area right next to it.

I usually have my tiered tray, decked out in seasonal decor, on the end of the kitchen island.  For this special holiday, I gave it a Canadian Cottage type of vibe and incorporated a few elements that are meant to represent that.

On the bottom tier, I placed two mini Adirondack chairs that I found at our local Dollar Store.  They came unfinished and were painted white.

I rolled some wired red gingham ribbon to create pillows for the chairs and taped on a flag decal to the fronts of them.

The chairs are nestled up to a campfire and a canoe (actually a pickle dish with a flag decal stuck on) and oar sit ready for some Canada Day activity.

I created the little campfire by using a metal holder from a large tealight surrounded by some pieces of a decorative branch and then placing a faux tealight in the middle.

Did you see Mr Moose hiding behind one of the chairs? He's wearing festive attire for the occasion with a red/white scarf and a flag as a coat.

On the top tier, I placed a Canada mug from the Dollar Store along with a red-handled spoon tied with gingham ribbon, some faux flowers in red/white and a little white house to represent a cottage.

I added a Canadian flag to the chimney of the house so that it hung over the metal piece at the top of the tray.

Little pieces of faux cedar greenery were tucked in here and there.

The little cottages (houses from Michael's last year) were lit by adding string lights inside and hiding the battery packs under some of the faux greenery.  I also taped flag decals on each of the cottages.

This was a fun theme to put together and while it is perfect for Canada Day decor, if you take away the flags, it would also work for a summertime look.

I've added a few other Canada Day decorations around the kitchen and in the far back corner...

...I've set up this display where I just need to add a few flags.

Wishing all my Canadian friends a very Happy Canada Day!

Thanks for visiting!
