Home for Christmas Tablescape

Well, the halls are finally all decked and the table is set for an upcoming pre-Christmas gathering that I'm hosting. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen this one as part of a Christmas Tablescape Tour that I participated in.

My theme for this table setting was  "Home for Christmas".
Those very words tend to conjure up images of loved ones gathered around the table.

Inspiration began when I fell in love with these plaid kitchen towels.  Plaid fabric always seems so cozy and comforting to me...just like home!

Instead of using them as intended or even as napkins, I turned the towels into table runners by placing them together across the table.

I coordinated red, white and green into the place settings and surrounding accessories.

Red wine glasses served as stemware and a copper mug with a deer head ornament served as a placecard holder.

The copper coloured flatware is new fromHomeSense.

Green cloth napkins were folded in a bow fashion and embellished with red napkin rings. The red plates each have a different pattern on them.

The centerpiece consisted of two wire baskets filled with faux greenery and berries...

...and a wire covered glass vase was placed in the center on a riser covered with a black napkin.

A red truck ornament sits beside the center vase. I'm sure those inside the truck are traveling home for Christmas! :)

White string lights were tucked along the centerpiece for some sparkle.

The view towards the living room.

The dining room sideboard behind the table was also decorated in the theme.

This little red truck is following Gingerbread Street...

...to get Home for Christmas!

How is your Christmas decorating coming along?  Do you have any pre-Christmas dinner parties planned?

Thanks for visiting!
I'll be linking this post to these wonderful blog parties:

  1. Cute theme, Lori! I liked how you incorporated the trucks into the story. You didn't feature it, but I loved the sideboard decor.

I take some of your ideas and try to use them in my home even though my table is smaller and my dining room also. Keep up the good work! Love to see your posts!
