Fall Retirement Dinner Tablescape - Mine!

Life has become a lot simpler of late! I recently retired from my job(s) in the Health Information Mangement field at our local hospital and medical clinic and my clinic office manager was kind enough to host a potluck dinner at her house with all my co-workers as a celebration for me.

It was such a lovely evening and I so appreciated the wonderful turnout and how special everyone made me feel! Unfortunately, I only had my cell phone to snap a few pics but I wanted you to see the tablescape I put together for it.

Yep, that's right...I set the tables! When you love to decorate, you even volunteer to provide the decor for your own party!
These are the centerpieces I made.

Faux fall florals were arranged in pots I already had and I made some little banners for them.
Battery-operated white lights were added for some sparkle.

Here's a little video that shows the tablescape better.

It is hard for anyone to have a sit down meal for 17 people in their home but we made it work.

The place settings were alternated with white plates and orange napkins...

...and orange plates with white napkins.

Some of the very delicious food that everyone brought.

It was such a lovely evening and a wonderful celebration for my retirement.

I am definitely going to miss all of my terrific co-workers.

Not only were they great to work with, they are very fun to party with too!

However, I am happy to move on to the next chapter of my life where I'm looking forward to having extra time to create more tablescapes!!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Congratulations Lori. You look entirely too young to retire! I’m sure you will relish retirement and the time to enjoy your grand baby that comes with it.
Those ladies obviously care about you! Enjoy the next chapter.

  2. Congratulations, Lori! I'm sure your friends had a delightful time. Setting tables for so many is always a challenge but you mastered it beautifully. Relax a day or two, then plan all the wonderful times to come.

  4. Lori, you are the only one besides me that would set their own table setting for a party. LOL! It looks great and so do you! Such a pretty smile. And goodness gracious, are you sure you're old enough to retire? You certainly don't look it. :) Enjoy your retirement!
