Christmas Fireplace

Whew! It's been a busy few weeks of decorating! I'm sorry I've been away from the blog longer than I intended but if you follow me on Instagram, you know I've posted a bit over there.

However, I'm back now to share how I decorated our fireplace and mantel for the 2018 Christmas season.

This year, I've kept with traditional red and green with lots of my beloved buffalo check pattern thrown in.

On the mantel, two reindeer and some faux candles take centerstage.

I'm loving these faux candles by Real Lite which have a realistic flickering flame and a timer.  They are set in some birch candleholders that Mr Delight made for me.

I've also tucked a string of white mini lights along the mantel which look nice at night.

A little faux evergreen tree sits at each end of the mantel.

A red berry wreath covers the mirror and above it, I've hung a green garland with lights.

The full view.

If you look below the mantel, you'll see a curtain rod hung with cup hooks which is so handy for hanging Christmas stockings and other seasonal decor.

This buffalo check stocking has a cute bear on it...

...and this one has a little moose.

I've added some decor to the hearth area of the fireplace as well.

A small trunk sits perfectly on the edge of the hearth and was draped with a buffalo check scarf.

On top of the trunk, I've placed a wire basket filled with birch logs, faux boughs and a string of mini lights.

My trusty black lantern is filled with a faux candle, some greenery and red berries.

Next to the fireplace sits two cream coloured leather chairs.

A buffalo check pillow in red and black and a fun red truck Christmas pillow are nestled in one of the chairs.

My coffee table centerpiece consists of a tray that I filled with more of the birch candleholders Mr Delight made along with some greenery and red berries.

We have already enjoyed an evening of wine by the fire while taking in the decorations.  I'm fortunate in that Mr Delight appreciates the effort I put into decorating and realizes the ambiance of the season doesn't just "happen" without some work.

I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to curl up with a good book while sitting in this chair next to the fire and enjoy even more of the coziness of this space.

Thanks for visiting!
