As we head into August, I'm thinking of the upcoming apple season that will be here before we know it. I love fresh crisp apples, both red and green. That was my inspiration for this al fresco table I set for a recent outdoor dinner for two.
I went with a green apple theme, threw in a few green pears as well and set it on a background of black & white buffalo check.
I decided to use this round wire lantern that I've had for years as a centerpiece.
I put a faux candle in a glass vase inside.
Because it is easy to see through the wire, I could fill the inside with decor.
I placed a bunch of these tiny faux pears, some wire orbs and greenery inside.
The wire lantern was placed on a wooden charger which had a buffalo check cloth napkin draped on top.
Some faux green apples were set next to it.
More green wire orbs and faux pears make for coordinating table scatter.
Next to the lantern, I placed black pots filled with greenery and faux apples.
Black & white buffalo check napkins were tucked inside.
The green runner is actually 3 cloth napkins placed together. I also used the same cloth napkins on top of the white placemats to add more of the green colour there.
Buffalo check pillows provided the perfect coordinating backrests for the chairs.
These black and white plaid dishes are from Pier 1 as are the cloth napkins.
I made apple-themed placecards for fun.
Faux green apples were tucked inside the bowls.
Black handled flatware went well with the table decor.
Cute little faux pears were set next to the forks.
Even the plants surrounding the table went well with the decor. :)
I love having hosta plants in pots. They come back every year and you can put them wherever you want.
This is the side of the yard where Mr Delight and I enjoyed the tablescape for both dinner last night and this morning's breakfast.
And since more sunny weather is in the forecast, I think I'll leave it set up for awhile longer.
Hope you have been able to enjoy some al fresco meals as well this summer. There's something so special about dining outdoors.
Thanks for visiting!

Lori, I love all the details! The black and white check is a dramatic backdrop for the fresh greens which stand up well to the bold pattern. The small green orbs add a touch of whimsy. I'd use this table for as long as possible!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and refreshing outdoor tablescape. I love the black and white plaid plates with the checkered cloth and napkins. The green topped it all off perfectly. I wish our weather permitted hostas in pots, but it is much too hot for them. Beautiful post.
