Birds & Nests Springtime Table

It finally seems like spring has sprung in these parts with the last of the snow having melted and the birds having come home to nest.  With that in mind, I set out to create a tablescape that captures the feel of spring is in the air.  Here's hoping that you have that feeling in your neck of the woods too!

Although this tablescape was put to use for dinner with friends last week, it would work equally well for Mother's Day coming up on Sunday.

My springtime centerpiece ran the length of the table.  Once again, I incorporated battery-operated fairy lights - just love the sparkle they provide.

This tablescape features birds and nests.

I used one of these rustic hurricane pedestals on each end of the table.

Inside, a white birdie watches over her nest.

A brown metal birdcage was placed in the center of the table atop a wood charger.

The inside was decorated with greenery, a white birdie and a nest filled with eggs.

The view on the other side ...it is important to me that the guests on both sides of the table are able to view the centerpiece in the same manner.

Next to the birdcage, a glass hurricane...

...with a green pillar candle provides a soft glow.

A garland of faux greenery was woven along the center of the table.

I chose to use green, yellow and white dishware for a springtime vibe.

The dish stack started with a round woven placemat and then a brown charger.

The flatware was placed in a burlap bag and a mini chalkboard provides a placecard.

A tealight was set to the left of each place setting.

A nest of eggs resting on a peat moss cup stands at the top of each guest's place.

Amber coloured stemware sit next to the water glasses.

A coordinating green and yellow napkin is tucked between the dish layers.

While I've created a springtime look in our dining room...

...it's time to get busy getting our yard ready for spring so I can set some tables out there!

Thanks for visiting!
I'll be linking this post to these wonderful blog parties:

  2. This is so cute Lori. I like how you incorporated the birds and nests throughout the center arrangement. With all the nesting that starts in the spring it’s a perfect idea! The green dishes and candles are a favorite spring color! We are all melted down here too and warm weather is starting. Ready to be outdoors more and more. Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day!
