Green Apple Tablescape

It's apple season around here and I've used that as a theme for a late summer tablescape. I'm hoping I can transition into fall soon but I'm not quite ready.  :(

I had extra incentive to create this tablescape as my daughter and her boyfriend were visiting and I wanted a colourful cheery table setting for the meals we shared with them.

My centerpiece, of course, involved apples...though these were of the faux variety.

I stacked them into this small wooden crate and added some little white faux flowers.

Next to the apple crate, I placed a hurricane candle and an apple-filled burlap sack.

I  was happy to find the perfect shade of green candles in my stash.

I used a brown tablecloth with a green plaid overlay on top.

These green buckets are something I bought at the Dollar Store a few years back but hadn't used.

I decided to create apple-bucket placecard holders out of them.

I made the placecards on the computer and just taped them to a faux apple.

I used a brown and a green napkin and tucked them both into the buckets.

Water glasses were given a fun touch with these polka dot straws.

Each place setting got an individual tealight.

I placed the candleholder in a tiny grapevine wreath and added a polka dot ribbon.

The dish stack was compiled using a brown charger, green dinner plate and brown salad plate.

I made the faux boxwood wreath that I put around the bottom of the little burlap sacks. I just hot-glued faux boxwood around grapevine wreaths.

This tablescape had to do double duty for both daytime meals as well as evening while our special guests were here.

It was pouring rain with loud thunder while we ate dinner so we felt doubly cozy sitting around the table by candlelight.

Who says green apples aren't sophisticated enough for fine dining?    ;)

Okay, I think it's time to think full-on fall and get busy with decorating for it this weekend. Hope you'll check back and see what I've come up with.

Thanks for visiting!

I know what you mean about the giving up summer for fall, but you've transitioned perfectly and have inspired me as well to get those bins out and start decorating for the next season to come!
