Spring in the Dining Room

Spring seems very close not only by the calendar but by the weather we've been having lately.  Almost all the snow is gone from our yard which is the earliest I can remember.  Naturally, spring must be sprung inside as well so I am welcoming the new season with some fresh décor in my dining room.

The vibrant colour of ...
...was the inspiration for the spring touches in this space.

 From the table...

...to the sideboard...both areas got some fabulous faux forsythia (of the Dollar Store variety).

It may surprise you to know that my dining room table isn't always set for a meal ;)

This time, I went with just a centerpiece starting with a decorated birdcage.

I filled it with a nest of eggs and some faux greenery.

And of course, added some branches of the faux forsythia.

Two of these carved-looking birdies were placed next to the birdcage.

Glass hurricanes add some ambiance with...

...a flickering white pillar candle

and small forsythia blossoms placed inside the glass pedestal.

A large vase of faux forsythia takes center stage on the sideboard.

A white bunny hints of Easter which will soon be here.

I set him on a small stack of egg-shaped plates.

A white birdie is perched atop this candleholder.

Have you started putting out any spring décor?

It's time!

Thanks for visiting!

  3. Lori, What a lovely table. I love those little carved birds. I still need to put out my faux forsythia. We took a drive yesterday and we saw a forsythia bush already in bloom. I think that I might have to plant one in my yard. Have a wonderful week!

  9. I am loving the bright color of the forsythia! I have a garland on my table right now with yellow and white flowers but they are not forsythia. I also have some nests tucked into the garland.I will be sharing the Spring dining room next week. My bunnies are hopping all over my kitchen and breakfast room:)

  10. I'm ready to find some of my Spring decor after all of your forsythia and rabbit inspiration. I have a few bushes of forsythia starting to bloom in my yard. I saw a box in the garage marked flowers for tablescapes so maybe I can get to it this week and bring on some Spring here in our Kentucky home. My kitchen is done so time to move on to other things in the house.

Your dinner table looks gorgeous with the cage all done up. You always make the most wonderful vignettes my friend, as you put so much attention to detail. Your side buffet looks great with that cute bunny.

  19. After red, yellow is my all time favorite color!!!
This table is absolutely a show stopper!! I have put out 1 bunny this season, so you are putting me to shame. I do have a host of birdies around though, and a number of nests and houses for them.
Hope you are having a beautiful spring, and will have a blessed Easter!
