At Christmas time, there is nothing we like better than coming in from a day on the ski slopes of our local mountain resort and sitting down to the warmth and coziness of a table decorated for the season. Inviting some of our après ski buddies over adds to the enjoyment and a fun time always follows.
With that in mind, I tried to create a tablescape that captures the feeling of an outdoor mountain scene with the cozy, yet stylish elegance of Christmas Eve.
Here's a picture I took of my favourite local ski run.
I wanted to design a look that would transition us from there to the indoors during the holiday season without it being a typical ski or winter themed table setting.
I started with this silver glittered tree centerpiece I created by arranging the trees in a tray and adding frosty tipped faux pine boughs.
A bit reminiscent of the snow laden trees on the mountains.
These tree plates (from Canadian Superstore last year) also fit the theme perfectly.
The silver snowflake napkin rings add a bit of sparkle.
Faux ice encrusted wreaths were placed around two of these candleholders.
A silver bird creates some woodland charm.
The colour scheme of black, white and silver adds the elegance factor to the table.
So as we gather around this...
...we can recall the great times we had on the slopes and...
Christmas in the mountains is the best!
(Yep, I'm a tad biased!)
Hope you will check back next time to see more of this elegant pine-cone look I created on the sideboard behind the table.
Thanks for visiting!
Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteLori,
ReplyDeleteYet another gorgeous tablescape that I love love love. What could be better than black and silver. I am loving those tree plates that look like snowflakes on the edge. And those candle holders on the table are very classy. I may have to try something like this myself. Merry Christmas!
