Winter Welcome Mantel

After taking down the Christmas mantel décor earlier this month, I decided to embrace the seasonal weather we are having and created a

Winter Welcome Mantel

Come have a seat by the fire while I show you the details.

On the left side of the mantel, I've perched a snow-white owl (found last year at a local boutique) on a black candlestick. Some greenery, snowflakes and a "Winter Welcome" sign add to the theme.

In the middle of the mantel, I created a "Gone Skiing" (so us!) sign on the computer and put it in a frame and tucked it along with a ski ornament into some birch pieces.
This picture below is a better shot of how the birch pieces are laid on the mantel with white mini-lights underneath.
On the right side of the mantel, a little snowman is inviting you to enjoy winter's welcome.

After Christmas, I hate taking down all the lights so I always leave some on the mantel and around the mirror and work them into whatever seasonal décor I've got going on there.

Below, you can see how I hung snowflakes at various heights from the curtain rod under the mantle.

More birch logs are placed in a brown box on the hearth.  White mini-lights, a snowflake and part of a ski pole are also tucked inside.
This fireside hearth lantern is given a "birch accent" with a candle riser inside.
Hope you've felt the thrill instead of the chill of
Winter's Welcome!
