My last post was on May 3, 2012 where I mentioned getting ready for my daughter's upcoming wedding and I'm sure many of you thought my hiatus from blogging was due to the preparations for that celebration.
However, that isn't the way my summer played out. Without going into detail but in an effort to "keep it real", I'll just say that in an unexpected turn of events, my days were filled instead with what was, a mom's need to help her child through a break-up, wedding cancellation, selling of a house, the buying and moving into another place and the settling into a new life.
Thus, my fall season begins on a different, yet now, after much upheaval, more stable course. I'm ready to get back into spending time at my hobby which of course, is having fun setting tables and adding seasonal decor to my home which I love sharing with you.
The road of late hasn't been an easy one but with Thanksgiving less than a month away, it is a good time to remember "in all things, give thanks"(1 Thessalonians 5:18) and rather than dwell on the recent hardships and pain, we will reflect on our blessings.
I hope you'll stop back in and check out what ideas I've come up with as I look forward to embracing the autumnal splendor that is upon us and decorating the table and the house in my favourite colours and objects of this beautiful season!
Thank you for visiting Dining Delight once again, I appreciate your continued support!
Sorry to hear things didn't go as planned. Hopefully you will all look back on this one day and say thank goodness that happened as it did. Hard to see now of course but life is such a wonderful journey and as you say the best bits are to be cherished. And I think are all the sweeter because of the bad.

Having daughters, I can imagine the pain and heartache you both have been through. Hope your daughter is in a good place now. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about all of the upheaval. Sometimes, things turn out to be a blessing in disguise. It's hard to see in the moment; but, when you look back, it all becomes clear. Glad to hear that things are settling dowm and you can get back to sharing your beautiful decor with us.
ReplyDeleteOur plans are not always God's plan. Try to keep in mind that God's plan is much greater than ours and even though you might not see it now, there is a much bigger purpose for what is going on.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about what you and your daughter have been going through. Your daughter is lucky to have you around. I am so glad about your outlook though, you are right to count the blessings rather than focus on the unpleasant. Put it behind you. Something good will come along. Take care and hope your daughter's not in pain anymore....Christine
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about all that has happened in your family this summer. I am a believer that everything happens for a reason - and often we don't understand this until much later. Thankful that you have a positive attitude. Glad to see you back!
ReplyDeleteFound your beautiful blog from "At the Farmhouse" while posting on Simple Sweet Fridays". I love all your fall vignettes-so warm and inviting despite your circumstances you have been through. Everything lovely.

Sometimes live throws us a curve, but something wonderful is waiting down the road for your daughter.
ReplyDeleteDear one ~ Took a chance stopping by
ReplyDeleteafter a long "miss you" and delighted in the Autumn creations...
My admiration just welled into tears
as I read about the plans tucked back into the hope chest and marveled at your Faith and courage.
One day you will look back over your
shoulders and you and your Daughter
will nod to one another with a smile
knowing that God had a better plan
unfolding before you. However, for the present, I see your gifted creativity button is still set on
full speed ahead. Bless you.
