Early Fall Pear Themed Tablescape

We've had some lovely weather recently and it inspired us to host an alfresco dinner party in our backyard.

I decided on an late summer/early fall vibe and created a tablescape with a pear theme adding faux pears and dried floral stems to the centerpiece.

We invited two other couples over and I set the table in our backyard gazebo.

The place settings were kept simple with a charger, dinner plate and napkin.  Faux pears became the perfect placecard holders.

I used my copper flatware and this new green stemware I recently found at HomeSense. I only had 4 of them so the place settings on the ends of the table got a different glass.

A beige tablecloth was topped with a brown runner and green placemats.

The centerpiece was created by using a footed tray and filling it with faux dried floral stems, pears and a glass votive holder.

I also added string lights which added to the ambiance as the evening wore on.

Another glass votive holder filled with small faux pears was set on each side of the tray in the middle.

We have been slow to start entertaining again after the two year hiatus but it was wonderful to get together with friends after so long.

This is a hastily taken (blurry) pic as I was busy visiting but Mr Delight prepared us a yummy meal of seafood linguini.

I'm hoping our lovely fall weather continues and we can enjoy some more alfresco meals before the seasonal chill sets in.

Are you looking forward to fall or holding on to summer?

Late Summer Sunflower Coffee Bar

With summer winding down, I wanted to give my coffee bar a late summer vibe and sunflowers are my go-to theme for this time of year.

My coffee and tea bar is set up on this sideboard in my kitchen.

I got this sign on Amazon last year and like how it contrasts with the sunflowers. The trio of sunflower tealight holders are by Partylite from years ago.

I found these sunflower cannisters at our local Pharmasave in their decor section. They were perfect for tea bags and coffee pods.

This arrangement consists of fresh sunflowers while all the rest are faux.

I placed some plates and small bowls on one end to grab for quick snacks.

Black lanterns coordinate well with the black and white buffalo check in the runner and mugs.

Two sunflower print canvases flank either side of the framed shiplap wall piece that Mr Delight made for me a few years back.

A sunflower pillow sits atop a basket on a vintage wooden stool...

...next to the sideboard on each side.

Here's the one on the far side.

I also decorated the shelf above with coordinating pieces.  Below, you can see that this sideboard is very functional for us as it houses our glassware and liquor.

This space in our kitchen has been made brighter with all the cheerful sunflowers...

...and it is definitely a happy spot to grab a coffee.

Pretty Peach Alfresco Tablescape

Peaches are in season in our area and since they are a fav fruit of mine, I thought I'd celebrate with an appropriately themed alfresco tablescape.

I set this as a table for two for a recent Date Night in our backyard.

The soft pastel colours created a romantic vibe to the table.

I was pleased to use these floral-patterned dishes that coordinated perfectly.

("Margaret's Garden" by Bico Ceramics available on Amazon)

As per usual, my place settings involved a lot of layering which always adds interest to the table.

Stemware consisted of an acrylic hobnail water goblet and an amber coloured wine glass.

My gold flatware was the best choice for the peach tones.

A sage green tablecloth and silky peach coloured runner provided the backdrop.

I layered faux peaches, greenery and daisies in a dough bowl and flanked it with a gold lantern on each end to create the centerpiece.

This sign added a fun touch!

The table was all set for our Date Night at home...

...which became even more romantic by the glow of candlelight.

The candelier and backyard lighting also contribted to the perfect ambiance.

The string lights I'd tucked into the centerpiece added a lovely twinkle as the evening wore on.

It was a fantastic evening where we ordered in dinner and were able to just relax and enjoy each other's company.

Black & White Boho Coastal Tablescape

I'm in disbelief that we are into the month of August already! This year is flying by! I'm trying to savour every moment of summer right now as demonstrated by my latest tablescape.

The "boho coastal" vibe was inspired by this terrific black and white striped tablecloth by Ownkoti. I love the tassel fringe on the edges!

I continued the black and white neutrals into the place settings and centerpiece.

Starfish-shaped and black and white striped melamine plates were set atop a white scalloped edged charger.

These boho inspired placemats are a recent find and were perfect for my theme.  I layered them on top of some thicker woven ones I already had.

I love the cute pompom fridge on the edge.

The black woven coverings on this glassware also helped convey the boho theme and the glasses were set on top of shell-shaped dishes.

I used my black handled flatware for a coordinated look.

Black napkins were encircled with wooden bead/fringed napkin rings and shells were turned into placecard holders.

The centerpiece started by layering a wide burlap ribbon down the length of the table and setting the other items on top.

Two black framed mirrored trays were placed on either side of  a large pedestal bowl in the middle.

The bowl was filled with starfish, a large shell ball and faux greenery.

I also tucked in some wooden beads with twine fringe.

The mirrored trays held a woven covered glass-turned-candleholder and a ceramic basket filled with shells and faux grasses.

More shell shaped tealight holders were set along the middle of the table.

I was pleased with how the boho coastal vibe really came together in this tablescape and the pampas grass as a backdrop in the dining room helped as well.

The overhead view again.

Now that the table's set, I'm thinking of asking hubby to cook up one of his delicious seafood meals and inviting some friends over.

Are you holding onto summer or are you ready for fall?
