Coastal Themed Tablescape in Black & White

I can't believe we are already in the second half of August and summer is winding down. Are you still holding on to this season or are you ready for fall?  I'll be moving on to a late summer vibe soon but for now, here's a look at one more beach inspired tablescape I recently put together.

This one is a bit different in that I had wanted a neutral colour scheme for it and decided to use black and white.

We had a stretch of nice weather lately so I took advantage of it and set this table outdoors as well.

The place settings were put together using a combination of black and white dishes and linens.

These clear shell plates top off the dish stack.

I printed these placecards on my computer and taped them to extra shells adding some faux grasses underneath.

Shells were glued to simple white napkin rings to fit the theme.

Clear acrylic handled flatware and tall black stemware complete the place settings.

A white tablecloth topped with a black table runner act as  a backdrop.

Each end of the table runner has some sparkly embellishment which looks nice as it hangs over the table edge.

The centerpiece was created using two of these resin shells set on mirrors on each end of the table.

Faux beach grasses were added to the shells and string lights were woven throughout the centerpiece.

I hid the battery packs inside the shells.

A trio of glass candleholders with inserts atop a wood riser was placed in the center of the table.

Inside the glass vases, sand and shells add the perfect coastal vibe.

Starfish and additional shells along with other beach grasses were scattered the length of the table.

This is the full view of the centerpiece.

Here is what we call our "cabana" where we eat a lot of our meals in the summer.

As the sun sets, the string lights add a pleasant ambiance to the table.

The votive candles also provide a lovely glow...

...creating a very relaxed atmosphere for dinner.

The mirrors under the shells reflect the pretty lights as well.

In the background of the pic below, you can see the outdoor lighting we have in our yard and around the edge of the cabana which also add to the ambiance.

It's always fun when I get to set the table and ...

...Mr Delight cooks us a meal to enjoy at it.  This was grilled chicken and veggies but wouldn't seafood be perfect at this table?!

Next time crab or prawns are on the menu, I'll have a coordinating coastal themed tablescape all planned out!

Summer nights are such a wonderful time to dine al fresco and I'm glad we are taking advantage of it as much as we can.

Thanks for visiting!
