July 1st is Canada Day and I'm feeling very blessed to be able to call this wonderful country home. Living in the mountains of British Columbia for most of my life, I've tried not to take our beautiful scenery and natural surroundings for granted.
With that in mind, I decided to go with a woodland theme that depicts a Canadiana vibe for my Canada Day Tablescape this year.
The table runner and cloth napkins in red and black buffalo check provided the look I was going for.
The place settings were arranged with a woven charger, white dinner plate, b&w salad plate topped with a red soup bowl.
These "tree" plates underneath the bowls were perfect for the theme.
I gathered up the 4 Rae Dunn mugs I have and added the flag vinyl cling-on stickers.
Next to each place setting, I set a vase with red & white flowers and a flag.
A grouping of a moose, bear, trees and birch pieces combined for the ideal centerpiece.
These vintage camping type lanterns were added to each side of the centerpiece.
The little evergreen trees lend a forest-like look to the table.
All of the elements on the table were items I've had in my stash...
...he is a recent find at Home Hardware. He looks like carved stone but is actually lightweight resin.
I've set the table in our dining room but if the weather clears by Monday, I may move everything outdoors.
Here is a trick I use often when a tablecloth is too long...just tie all 4 corners with pretty ribbon.
The sideboard behind the table got some Canada Day touches as well.
Hello Canada, I'm ready to celebrate!
