Tiered Tray with Late Summer Decor

Here I am decorating my tiered tray again...this time for late summer.  To me, apples and sunflowers speak of late summer and are the perfect decor items to use when transitioning from summer to fall.  When combined with a few other elements, you can create a look that has  September written all over it.

In case you missed my previous posts about it, this is the Creative Co-op Two Tiered Wood Tray I recently purchased through Amazon. I just love it!

So here's how I styled this wooden two tiered tray for a late summer look.

First off, I created this Apples for Sale sign and placed it center-stage on the top tray.

I rounded up three different kinds of faux apples that I had on hand and placed them throughout the top and bottom tray.

These Dollar Store burlap sacks were made to look like bags full of apples with some filler and mini-chalkboard signs.

Copper mugs with colour-coordinated straws are ready to be filled with some delicious apple cider.

And these red bowls would be perfect for warm apple crisp with ice cream.

A chalkboard A+ signals it's time for back to school.

Red checked cloth napkins were arranged in various spots to provide some texture and pattern to the tray decor.

Faux sunflowers add pops of yellow throughout.

I like walking into our kitchen and seeing the bright fall colours on the tray.  This is the first decorating I've done so far this year that has a nod towards fall.  I usually wait till Labour Day weekend to go full-on fall.

When do you start decorating for fall?

  1. Very cute! I love your tiered tray and you have embellished it perfectly for late summer. I hold on to summer as long as possible here in the Midwest, and don't usually decorate for fall until mid to late September.
