Buffalo Check Goes Upscale Tablescape

If you've read my recent posts, you will have observed that I've gone with more of a Christmas Cabin theme this year for my holiday decorating.  I continued that look into the dining room but with a bit of a twist.  Follow along and I'll show you what I mean.

I'm participating in the Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate & DecorateYou'll find lots more inspiration for setting your Christmas table with 27 other bloggers sharing their tablescapes.  I'll list the links to their blogs at the end of my post.

In this Christmas tablescape, black and white buffalo check gets an upscale look when combined with an icy centerpiece.

Rather than combining rustic elements with the black and white buffalo check tablecloth, I decided to go white and frosty in order to achieve a more elegant vibe.

Icy-looking acrylic pieces were placed on a white faux fur table runner which are meant to represent a snow covered forest setting.

Battery-operated lights were woven through the scene, around this glass tree and...

...this white wax candle tree...

...and under this silver snowflake.

The acrylic Christmas trees light up and cycle through three different shades of frostiness.

Place settings included black and white dishes on a silver charger.

These tree-shaped salad plates work well with the theme.

Silver wax candle trees make great placecard holder accents.

The colour scheme is incorporated into the stemware as well.

All of the items used in this tablescape are from my stash and I've had most of them for years with the exception of the tablecloth which was purchased this past summer at Red Apple and the faux fur runner which is actually a mat (folded in half) from Walmart.

Behind the table, the sideboard is also decorated with a forest scene on a buffalo check runner.  I'll show you more details of this area in a future post. (See here)

So do you think I've given buffalo check an upscale look or is it destined to be strictly rustic cabin all the way?
