Spring Mantel & Hearth

If you read my last post, you may have noticed my spring mantel and hearth in the background of the Easter tablescape I created in front of our fireplace.  Here is a closer look at it  with some pics I took before I moved the dining room table over to this area.

A trio of faux boxwood wreaths and a picture frame were hung from a metal art piece above the mantel.

I brought out two of these white bunnies I got a few years back at Pier 1.

I like how they have their noses up like they are sniffing the spring air.

Mini-lights on a wire were wound onto the blossoms.

More lights were also attached to the blossoms in the vases.

There is a warm glow when the min-lights are turned on and the candles lit which we especially enjoy in the evenings.

Naturally, a cozy fire helps enhance the ambiance as well.

Let's have a look at the hearth area.

I made this SPRING banner years ago and brought it back out.  It is simply taped on to the curtain rod under the mantel.

On the right side of the hearth sits a small trunk covered with faux fur, a wreath and a buffalo check pillow.

Oh... and this guy too!

I think he likes warming himself by the fire :)

On the other side of the hearth, some spring blossoms, a lantern and candleholder add to the decor.

A small nest filled with coloured eggs is tucked in beside the lantern.

I had a lot of fun putting these spring touches on our mantel and hearth...

...now if only the weather would cooperate so we could enjoy some spring outside.
Hopefully, it's on its way soon!

Thanks for visiting!

  11. Oh my! I absolutely love, love, love this mantle! So elegant! We are re-doing our fireplace mantel soon and Spring will be my first decor on it. Do you mind sharing where you got those ceramic candleholders? The ones on the mantle and the one down lower by the fireplace? And those bunnies! I must have them! I am going to try to recreate everything you did here. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I'm not a fan of pastels, I was years ago but it always seemed to looked cluttered, maybe because of all the color.

  12. I will come back to this place, its huge and open, and have really tall ceilings. Wait staff at San Francisco venues was also pretty good. Bartender was awesome and personable. I was really pleased with my party here. Ha! I highly recommend these guys.

    2. But how did you attach the curtain rod. Is your mantel wood? Mine is stone.

    3. Yes, our mantel is wood so the curtain rod was screwed into it. ~ Lori
