New Year's Eve Table for Two

'Tis the time of year, for looking back and with that in mind, I'm reposting the New Year's Eve tablescape I created last year for an intimate dinner for two.  I'm a firm believer that whether the guest list is long or even non-existent, special occasions should be celebrated in style.

Here's a look at how Mr Delight and I brought in 2016.

I set up a small table in a corner by the front windows.

Inspiration for the table began with this Cheers burlap bottle bag I purchased at a local gift store.

I tied ribbon around the bottle neck and added some sparkly picks at the top to make it look like overflowing champagne.

I received two of these glass hurricane vases as a Christmas gift and filled them with various ornaments and curling ribbon for a New Year's Eve centerpiece.

The battery-operated fairy lights were purchased at the after Christmas sales and add terrific ambiance to the table.

These black spiky ornaments remind me of fireworks and what could be better for a New Year's Eve tablescape!

A bow-tie napkin fold is perfect for the occasion.

Champagne flutes are a must as well.

Brown metal stars coordinate with the gold ones on the tablecloth which is actually just a piece of sheer fabric.

An intimate and festive table for two...

Of course, in our house, Christmas is still going on and the Christmas tree makes a lovely backdrop.

Originally, I set the table in front of the tree which also looked nice but wasn't as practical for eating the steak & seafood meal Mr Delight prepared.

Are you planning to go out partying or do you prefer a cozy, romantic New Year's Eve at home?

We change it up from year to year but often I prefer the quiet atmosphere of home where we can reflect on the year just past and look forward to the one ahead.

And midnight kisses are always better at home! ;)

Wishing you all the best in 2017!

Thanks for visiting!
