It's Thanksgiving in Canada!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! We celebrated this special holiday by travelling to visit our daughter and her boyfriend.

I was asked to set the table for our turkey dinner (are you surprised?) and managed to come up with a simple tablescape that wasn't too fussy but honoured the occasion...and I did it in record time for me!

I have to admit that this handsome fellow made his way into my suitcase for the trip there...just in case his appearance was required. (from HomeSense a couple years ago)

I set him on a large white platter of my daughter's and added some faux fall leaves from Dollarama to fill in the spaces.

Four orange votive candles were placed around the centerpiece.  Their glow provided the perfect ambiance to the table.

The colour scheme was orange and silver on a white background.

I used my daughter's silver chargers with her white square plates atop orange striped placemats.  Cloth napkins were folded in a bow-tie type fold and slipped into a copper-coloured napkin ring.

Since there were only 4 of us, it was easy to set the table quickly.

Additional candlelight and faux leaves decorated the nearby sideboard where wine stood at the ready.

The meal that ensued was absolutely delicious!  The hostess, with help from the host, served a fantastic turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

We are so thankful to have been able to be with them for Thanksgiving and for all of the many blessings God has bestowed on us.

Thanks for visiting!
