St. Patrick's Day Kitchen Display

Although I'm a strong advocate of adding seasonal and holiday décor to your home, sometimes even the thought of changing everything up over and over can be overwhelming.
Today's post shows you how simple it can be and that you don't need to have numerous themed items on hand.

Case in point...my St. Patrick's Day Décor

If my St. Patrick's décor set-up looks familiar, it should!

Using the same basic format, I took my Valentine kitchen display to St. Patrick's with some easy changes.

I only have a small box of St. Patrick's décor items but by adding different green items from around my home, I'm able to create a new look each year.

Here's how I used those items to go from RED for Valentine's ...

...to GREEN for St. Patrick's.

Green mugs and some shamrocks replace the red snowflake ones (above) used for Valentine's.
(white cake plate stand is the same)

A silly little leprechaun thinks he can hide.

The white heart shaped Valentine plates were replaced with some round green ones. As well, the red-handled flatware was swapped out for green.
(wire basket and stack of white square plates are the same)

The love birds were changed up by adding this smiling leprechaun and his pot of gold.

Instead of hearts and snowflakes, the metal pots got black/white checkered napkins and shamrock embellishments.

The white pitcher's red berries were replaced with leafy green stems.

The front of the pitcher got some added charm with a mini green beer mug and boxwood wreath.

Of course, I also added to the basic décor underneath the table.

A reminder of the Valentine's look...

...to the St. Patrick's one.

The brown basket received a different pillow, a green throw and a St Patrick's day plaque.

Another wee leprechaun sits atop the birch in the metal tub.
Looks like he has already started celebrating.

The lantern décor went from red to green.

So there you have it!
By keeping the same format and...

...just swapping out items to a new colour with the addition of a few themed embellishments, it really is simple to create a new look for each season/holiday.

Thanks for visiting!

  3. Lori, I love your display. What a great idea to just change out a few things and leave the main containers. I will have to try that once I figure out a spot in my home. Just to let you know I am probably going to climb over some boxes either today or tomorrow. Have a great weekend! Jody

  6. Cute idea! I've packed all the valentine things away now, but don't have much in the way of St. Pats to put out. I'm going to pull the easter things out this week.

  8. Hi Lori,
I am laughing to myself, as I just finished doing the same thing to my
living room that was decorated for Valentine's day.......
Left everything that wasn't red where it was and just added green touches
here and there. Easy and like the look already, have just a few more
things to do, and it can carry me right into spring if I want....

You did a great job on yours as always, love both vignettes, and amazing the transformation between red and green, huh! Love all your shamrocks
and lepracauns... Fun..........I don't have any yet, but think I
might visit the dollar tree here in the next few days to see what
    I can find........lol

    Have a great day,
    Blessings, Nellie

  11. Perfect table to just keep changing and tweaking for each special day. I don't have much for St. Pat's but I'm working on another tablescape on my peninsula-scape for the Kathleen's crawl.
