A Sophisticated Thanksgiving Table

Last Monday was Thanksgiving here in Canada. 

This special holiday is always on the second Monday of October however, in many homes, the traditional turkey meal often takes place on Sunday.

We were fortunate to be invited to my parents' place for dinner on Sunday but I did do a Thanksgiving tablescape for a dinner we hosted earlier in the week. 

While I am calling it a "sophisticated" Thanksgiving tablescape, it also has a few rustic elements including pine cones.

 

The centerpiece began with this large white pumpkin I got at HomeSense this year.

 

 

I gave it some "glam" by adding crystals (off our chandelier).

 

 

A turkey and a cross were placed next to the pumpkin.

 

 

Next comes these sparkly candleholders, "Windswept" by Partylite years ago.

 

A white serving platter holds a variety of elements which carries the centerpiece the length of the table.  I'll show you the items required to create this look at the end of this post.

The dish "stack" consisted of gold, black and white.

 

 

Place cards were flanked by a pine cone and a candle.

 

 

Thanksgiving dinner with dimmed lights and candlelight is always so cozy.

 

 

The sideboard is decorated with a simple pine cone theme with pine cones placed alongside my "HOME" clock.

 

 

Beside the sideboard sits a tall branch/feather arrangement and some white pumpkins.

 

 

On the other side, a candle arrangement and my "trees in fall" picture complement the décor.

 

 A new addition to our dining room is this rustic "word" wall art. I love that Mr. Delight picked it out and we felt that it did a good job summing up "our home".
