Hope you all had a wonderful
Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day!
Here's a look at how Mr. Delight and I celebrated on this special day.
With all the snow we've had lately, (which was enjoyed with a few hours of skiing before dinner), it was only natural that we opted for a cozy fireside meal at home.
We calculated that this is our 34th Valentine's Day together! That's a lot of love to celebrate!
The tablescape began with this new artichoke type candleholder I got at HomeSense.
I placed it on a round mirror and added faux red berries (from Christmas) and a heart pendant.
You don't want to put your red Christmas decorations too far away when it comes to decorating for Valentine's!
Place settings were done in red and white with a silver charger.
Adding to the red and white theme, I used these white candleholders with red pillars on one side of the table.
(Loving the white twinkle lights my mom gave me which I tucked into a vase of birch branches)
Just a few touches of Valentine décor were added to my winter mantel (see HERE for that) using paper hearts and my feather heart over the mirror.
I tucked this "I Love You" sign that I got years ago at the Dollar Store in the box of birch on the hearth.
Of course, nothing says romance like candlelight!
I'm embarrassed to show these food pics as they don't look that great (snapped them quickly) but wanted you to know that we actually DID eat at this table.
First course: Tossed Green Salad
Entrée: Seafood Lasagna (Mr. Delight's fave) with Steamed Asparagus and Garlic Toast
Dessert: Chocolate Pecan Parfait
Lots of couples enjoy going out to a restaurant for Valentine's Day but we prefer the cozy romantic feel you can create at home.
It does involve some effort but it is well worth it!
We get all dressed up as if we were going out and are seated at the best table in the house!
Did you go out or stay in for your celebration?
Thanks for visiting!

What a lovely table! I'm sure your dinner must have been lovely and very romantic in that beautiful setting with that delicious-looking food! I always enjoy seeing what creative things you're doing with your tables and mantles! Have a great weekend! =)
ReplyDeleteHi! I turned off the word identifier on my blog, thanks for the tip! LOVE your tablescape, and am glad you found me and I found you!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous table and I simply adore that candleholder - wow, it really makes a statement.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, girl!!! Skiing for THREE HOURS?!?!?!! I can't even walk to the mailbox without huffing and puffing!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThirty-four years of living and loving is beautiful! That's cute that you guys worked to figure that out!
Your dinner looks wonderful to go along with a beautiful table and mantel. I agree with you on leaving those red Christmas decorations within easy reach for V-day decorating! There are even a few pieces that work well with patriotic decorating, so red stays at the front of the bins!
I agree with you on staying at home on Valentine's Day. The atmosphere is far more conducive to feeling relaxed and enjoying each other's company.
Have a great week!!!
So romantic!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you at Seasonal Sundays.
