First off, I'd like to thank Cindy at Dwellings for featuring my Christmas Inspiration post at her Amaze Me Monday blog party. I'm honoured to have been chosen from so many talented entries!
Secondly...Whew! Now that the multiple emptied bins from my Christmas decorations have been put away and the many glitter particles sparkling on my face have been scrubbed off, I'm ready to share some of my 2013 decorating ideas with you.

For now, I thought I'd start with my mantel and fireplace.
This year, I went with more of a rustic-natural look with maybe a touch of glam.
The view towards the dining room.
Two bronze coloured reindeer and three crystal trees take center stage.
Tall candleholders for votives and pillars are placed in amongst the pine cone garland.
Two pine cones with snowflakes hang in the center of the round mirror.
Below the mantel, a curtain rod holds the stockings. Mr. Delight thought of everything when he did our fireplace makeover!
When the fire is lit, the stockings can easily be pushed to the side as shown below.

How is your decorating coming along?

What a great idea to use the curtain rod under the mantel to hang the stockings. I'll have to show Mr. Mountain Breaths. ;o)

The curtain rod is so clever... It's so nice to push the stockings out of the heat so they don't catch on fire (or melt the chocolate that always fills mine!)
