Bridal Birdcage

Tis the season...for weddings.

With the recent warm weather, I decided to play around with a few table items outside in our cabana. I ended up creating a tablescape that could be used for some type of bridal event such as an intimate engagement party, small bridal shower or other type of wedding celebration.

My inspiration pieces included this birdcage recently painted white from a very dark brown

and I also wanted to use my "wedding china" (Dimity Rose by Royal Albert) as its been quite awhile since I've brought it out to play.

These two elements along with the season combined to make my tablescape take on a  bridal theme.

The bride-to-be has a special placecard and  a candle holder that is reminiscent of a large diamond - as in perhaps, an engagement ring.

With a bit of tulle and a ribbon, the guest of honour's chair is decorated to mimic a bridal veil.

The birdcage was filled with pieces of tulle and

two votive candle holders surrounded by small hurricane shades placed atop pillar pedestals.

A couple of "lovebirds" are placed near the cage.

Pink placemats and napkins arranged in "bows" add a feminine touch.

Candlelight, even in the sunshine, creates a romantic vibe.

For when the sun shines a bit too harshly, a side curtain provides some shade for the bridal gathering.

This curtain is attached to the side of the cabana.

This tablescape could work equally well for a bridal breakfast, lunch or late afternoon tea.

As the sun starts to set, the "candlelier" and white mini-lights help create a festive atmosphere.

I hope this "Bridal Birdcage" tablescape has given you some inspiration for any upcoming bridal/wedding events you may have.
My cousin is getting married Aug 10/13 and we are looking forward to attending that celebration!
