Endless Winter/The Promise of Spring

There will be some "tabletop" pics in this post (please bear with me) so I'm going to link up to Marty's Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life. And since I'm hoping for a "Spring metamorphosis" I'm linking to Susan's Met Monday at BNOTP.
In case you think, you've got a case of  cabin fever, I thought I'd share a few pics of how our house and street looked during this past weekend (March 4-6, 2011).  Here in the southeast corner of  B.C., this winter has been extreme to say the least!  Mr. Delight  thinks endless winter would be fantastic (for skiing) ....
...but I'm starting to long for "The Promise of Spring" as suggested by some of these past centerpieces I've created.  I'll let the pictures do the narration on their own...

(Look beyond the windows in the pic above)

In 10 days, it' will be St. Patrick's Day. (a reminder to check out Cuisine Kathleen's Blog Crawl on March 15th - see my side bar at top) Hopefully, I'll be able to do an Irish jig by then because maybe the snow will have melted down at least a few inches!
Ah Spring, where for art thou?
(Yep, that's snow up past the kitchen window!)

  1. My goodness, what a lot of snow! I wish it would snow here, it's snowed in nearby cities, but not in mine. It's so fresh and pretty. Stopping by because I have the honor of being your "linky neighbor" over at A Stroll Thru Life, hope you have a wonderful week, xoxo tami

  6. Wow, that's amazing! It looks just like how it was when we lived in a Chicago suburb but I have not seen it for a while living in the south now. Your vignettes and table setting are really pretty and you are too!...Christine

  7. I'm going to quit complaining here in Illinois! I don't think I've ever seen snow that deep. We are now snow free (although a little bit is headed our way) and rain has become our issue. There has been quite a bit of flooding near here. I'd would just like for the sun to shine, regardless of what the temperature is. Your tablescapes are gorgeous and I hope that snow melts for you very soon!
