Since my sideboard (or buffet) is directly behind my dining table, whenever I create a new tablescape, I usually try to come up with a similar look for both areas.
This is how I decorated the sideboard to coordinate with the Christmas tablescape in my previous post.
Bottle brush trees were used as placecard holders on the table.
For the sideboard, I placed a bottle brush tree and some faux snow (Epsom salt) inside a Dollar Store hurricane vase.
To add some of the same colours as on the table, I placed a white bird atop a red pillar candleholder.
A white pitcher filled with faux greenery and red berries coordinates with the wreath used in the centerpiece on the table.
Wreath/hurricane centerpiece from tablescape.
Although I used different but coordinated items on the sideboard, it has the same vibe as the table setting and provides a cohesive look for the dining room.
In the corner area, I placed a red berry wreath alongside two candle holders and a vase of branches.
The evening look...
...sparkles with candelight and the lights in the garland along the back of the display.
The larger tree is mirrored behind the smaller bottle brush tree.

ReplyDeleteYour sideboard and tablescape is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Beautifully done. I love the colors and the tiny trees. Oh and I have to say I'm a wee bit jealous of those Christmas plates. They just make the table so much more fun!
ReplyDeleteN-I-C-E!!! I, too, like to decorate the sideboard or buffet to extend the look of the dining table. It just creates an "atmosphere" as opposed to a table. Yours looks fantastic, and the details are so pretty with all the added sparkle and shine. Having a mirror there just makes it double the pleasure!
ReplyDeleteWell done, darlin'! Have a happy Wednesday!
Lovely, both the table and the mantle piece. I love the colours you have used, very white Christmassy.

What clever ideas you have shared! I especially love the Christmas trees in little pots for place card holders.

Lori, everyone including me loves the trees in the pots. Your sideboard is just as striking as your table. Great little light effects. I like decorating the sideboard to reflect the table and always try to do that too
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented Lori! Beautiful sideboard and elegant as well. I love every gorgeous element you've used to create such a perfect C'mas vignette.
ReplyDeleteI used your Arrogant Reindeer post from 2009 as a Pinterest challenge for Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen's latest challenge last Wednesday's Let's Dish.
