I had my eye on this shiny silver penguin at a local hardware store for awhile now and when the post holiday sales were on, I scooped him up for half price ($10). I was also thrilled to find the mercury glass silver trees at a local drug store also at half price ($7 ea)
I put Mr. P. and the trees inside an icy wreath on a round tray with some LED cordless lights, some silver berry picks and silver "disco" balls. If you look close, you can see the frosty snowflake on each of the trees.
These snowflakes are hung from my chandelier.
My black and white salad plates topped a white dinner plate which sits on a silver charger.
As night falls, the silver icy look takes on a warmer glow...
The black, white and silver combo gave me an idea to make this a celebratory tablescape so ....
...I added a few items and it becomes a Happy New Year 'scape!
Best wishes for 2010 to everyone in Blogland! Be sure to head on over to Between Naps on the Porch and check out all the wonderful tablescapes that have linked up to Susan's terrific blog for her 74th Tablescape Thursday.

I am so horrible with table scapes (truth be told, I've never really done one...and I have all hand-me-down dishes at this stage in my life). Email me if you get this soon as I'm trying to make a schedule. :) Aloha, Charlie
