Sunflowers seem like such a happy flower and always bring a smile to my face. They were the perfect inspiration for this September luncheon tablescape I recently designed.
I paired them with black and white buffalo check for more of a country vibe and to provide a nice contrast to their sunny yellow colour.
My centerpiece inspiration began when I put together two of these faux sunflower arrangements in these vases I got at the Thrift Store a few years ago.
Faux greenery and some white pom-pom florals were added to the sunflowers.
Two of these vintage-look black lanterns were placed on each side of the sunflower arrangements.
These were all set on a black and white buffalo check table runner.
A mustard coloured tablecloth with a paisley pattern provided a bright backdrop to the buffalo check.
Coordinating place settings were arranged atop black placemats.
Printed nametags could be added to the middle of the sunflower head to serve as placecards.
Under the white bowl, sits a black and white tree design salad plate with a black dinner plate underneath.
Amber coloured stemware was the perfect choice...
...as was my black-handled flatware.
As an extra embellishment, I placed a sunflower tealight holder at each place setting.
These were from Partylite many years ago and I was glad I still had four of them.
This was a fun tablescape to put together with...
...the cheerful brilliance of the sunflowers and...
...the bit of drama from the black and white buffalo check.
A sunflower theme is a great way to transition your decor from late summer to fall.
These late summer days are waning and autumn will officially start on Tuesday, Sept 22nd. It won't be long before it's time to bring out the pumpkins and leaves.
Are you sad to see summer go?
Thanks for visiting!
