Valentine Vignettes Around the House

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with those you hold dear! I thought I'd share a couple of vignettes I styled over the past few weeks to add a "look of love" around our home. I've already shared them on Instagram so you might have seen them but here's another look.

Romantic Valentine Table for Two

Happy Valentine's Day for this Friday! I'm looking forward to a romantic dinner at home. Mr Delight will be cooking his specialty of steak and crab for us to enjoy.  I get the fun job of setting the table for the occasion. Here's a look at one of the ideas I had for our Valentine's table for two.

I chose this spot in front of the windows in our living room as an option for romantic dining. Yes, that's a snowbank right outside so it will be like we are having dinner in a snow cave!

In order to coordinate with the chairs, I chose pink and gray for the tablescape's colour scheme.

I created a floral arrangement from my stash of faux stems and placed it in a galvanized metal container. This, along with two silver candlesticks serves as a "side-piece".

Placemats were turned sideways to accommodate the small table.

A decorative silver heart that Mr Delight gave me years ago was set in between the place settings.

Flutes of pink champagne coordinate well with the tablescape.

Weathered-gray coloured chargers and white dinner plates are topped with a gray salad plate and pink bowl.

Gray & white checked napkins, flatware and a pink heart were tucked inside the bowl.

I have a couple more days to decide if this will be our dining space and tablescape for Valentine's 2020 or if I'll change it up before then...which I have been known to do :)

Do you have plans for Valentine's Day?

Valentine Decor on Kitchen Sideboard

Here's a look at the Valentine decorations I've put out on the sideboard in our kitchen.  I've combined red with black and white buffalo check as the colour scheme and went from there.  It was fun to incorporate the  Christmas trees I still have on each end of the sideboard by adding some hearts.

After Christmas, I couldn't bear to get rid of all the lights and so decided the trees on each end of the island would become "winter trees".  Now, they have become "Valentine trees".

This was easily accomplished just by adding some hearts from the Dollar Store.

I created this red berries, pine cones and winter stems arrangement for the right side of the sideboard.

Hearts "flow" from the top of the vase.

Buffalo check mugs, white plates and a "You Are My Happy Place" sign sit in front of the vase.

White bird napkin rings surround red napkins on a stack of appetizer plates.

A buffalo check table runner coordinates with the colour scheme.

On the left side, champagne flutes sit on a riser next to the bottle of bubbly.

A heart shaped vase sits above two little lovebirds.

Heart shaped pendants and buffalo check bows were attached to the candleholders.

A woven heart sits front and center.

Cinnamon hearts are held in a candy dish tied with a red ribbon.

I  placed a heart below the gather sign above the sideboard and added string lights throughout the decorations for a bit of sparkle.

So now we are ready for Valentine's celebrations from one end of the sideboard...

...to the other!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my Valentine's decorations in this part of our kitchen.

Valentine Tiered Tray Decor

I've finally managed to do a bit of decorating for Valentine's Day around here which I'll be showing you in some upcoming posts.  Today, I'm sharing how I put together my tiered tray for this, the "love month".   I've mentioned before that tiered trays are a great way to add seasonal decor to one spot in your home.

I usually place mine on the end of our kitchen island and it definitely sets the tone for whatever holiday or season we are celebrating.

This year, I chose a red and white colour scheme for my Valentine's tray.

On the bottom tier, I placed a stack of small white bowls with a heart, a red pot with some greenery, two lovebirds and a Love Lives Here sign.

The top tier had a similar look with a red pot and greenery and small white dishes with hearts.  I found some tiny white pails at the Dollar Store and they were perfect for holding cinnamon hearts.

I tied a white lacy-looking drink coaster to the top of the tray with some gingham ribbon and taped a red heart to the front of it.  Red and white gingham ribbon was tucked in here and there on both levels.

This is the view of the tray as you walk in the kitchen...

...and this is the view from the other side.

The top tier on this side holds a white house, a birdie and a heart with more gingham ribbon.

On the 2nd tier, sits a red house, a Bee Mine mug, another pail of cinnamon hearts and an Our Happy Place sign.

I tucked greenery, a faux red rose and gingham bows here and there on this side as well.

Do you do any decorating for Valentine's Day?
A tiered tray is a great place to start!

This isn't a sponsored post but if you are interested in getting a tiered tray like mine, I got it online at Amazon and it's called the Creative Coop Two Tiered Wooden Tray (here).

Here's how I decorated it for Valentine's last year.
