I've really ventured outside my comfort zone for my Easter Tablescape this year going with this purple and pink creation. I've made it know in previous posts that I'm not a big fan of pastel colours and I find Easter decorating challenging because of it. However, this Easter, we are expecting to have both our son (& girlfriend) and daughter home for the weekend so I decided we needed a FUN table for our Easter brunch.
The starting point for my tablescape came when I found this colourful metal butterfly wreath at The Bargain Shop. I thought it had potential...
Secondary inspiration came from a few of these white "lacy" pots I bought at a local decor store but I see you can get them at Ikea as well.
By adding some greenery under the butterfly wreath and putting some tulips in the white pot on a cake plate, I was able to create a centerpiece.

I always like to have a reminder of what the TRUE meaning of Easter is so added a CROSS candle on each side as well
This one was a pink cross
and on the other side, a blue one
Next, I put some faux wheat grass with purple and gold Easter eggs in another white pot and placed one on each side of the centerpiece.
A little birdie helps bring more of the white colour and a spring feel to the table.
Each place setting began with a square white charger, a white dinner plate topped with pink floral plate from HomeSense a couple years back.
A purple compote dish was filled with purple "grass" and an egg cup filled with Easter treats. I bought the pink trio of eggs ready made but "crafty" people could probably whip these up on their own with some tulle and choc eggs on a stick.
I used my new "P-Touch" label maker to create placecards by putting name labels on plastic Easter eggs.
Pink napkins were folded "accordion" style and topped with a glittery egg. Now that I look at the pic, I'm thinking I'm going to go back to the table and turn them the other way to have more of a butterfly look!
These glasses will be filled with an orange punch for our Easter brunch.

Tablecloth and placemats were a new purchase from The Bargain Shop.
On the Menu will be a family favourite, Eggs Benedict along with pork sausages, fruit salad and cinnamon buns.
This tablescape is for our Easter Brunch but its quite possible, it will have to serve double-duty as our Easter dinner table setting as well so here is a couple pics by candlelight...
Okay, so I pulled the curtains closed at 3 pm to get the "night" effect!
Yes, I'm thinking this setting will work just as well for our evening meal...
