Christmas Home Tour Part 2

Of course, we are mindful of those who are suffering unbearably this Christmas after the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut on Dec. 14, 2012 and our prayers continue to be that God would comfort and strengthen them as they mourn the loss of their loved ones and the life that they knew.

Though our hearts are heavy and sadness prevails, we try to carry on with our Christmas preparations and with that in mind, I am posting Part 2 of my Christmas Home Tour.  Perhaps, we can focus on a brighter tomorrow with a few glances at some sparkle and shine.

 Kitchen Island Christmas Display

Apothecary jars and vase filled with faux snow with pine cone/berry/pine picks

Kitchen shelf over large clock decorated for Christmas

Bathroom gets some silver "frostiness" for Christmas

Silver "disco" type ornaments, faux greenery and brown shredded paper in apothecary jar .

Black metal "basket" on counter holds hand towels, silver birdie, silver pick and pine cone shaped soap.

Downstairs, in our TV Room, I've decorated using white and teal as the main colours which compliment the teal coloured accent wall.

It is a small room but that makes it especially cozy  for watching all our favourite Christmas movies this time of year.

The end table gets a festive touch with some sparkly gold centered faux white florals with teal coloured glittered berry sprigs.

Coffee table display is created using large glass hurricane filled with faux snow, teal ornaments, and white snowflakes around a stemmed candle holder.  This is set inside a faux green/white wreath.

Vintage skis, ski pictures of local skiers from bygone days and a large snowflake adorn the wall over the TV.

I hope you have enjoyed this year's Christmas Home Tour (if you missed Part 1, click here).
Best wishes for a blessed and meaningful Christmas season filled with joy and peace.

Peace Be With You...

As promised in my previous post, Part 2 of my Christmas Home Tour will be posted soon but I find I must have a "moment of blogging silence".

The tragedy which occurred this weekend in Connecticut has put all my stressing over Christmas preparations into perspective.  What seemed so important before, now has little significance in the bigger scheme of things.
Horrific events like this strike to the very core of all of us no matter where you live and my heart breaks for those who are suffering such tremendous loss from the senseless violent circumstances.  All of theirs and our Christmases to come will forever bring to mind the happenings of December 14, 2012.  Let us hold our loved ones a little closer and reflect on what really matters this Christmas season.
May the Lord bless us and keep us all in His care and grant us His PEACE.

Christmas Home Tour

I'm joining in the
2012 Christmas Tour of Homes at Nesting Place and Homespun Christmas Link Party featuring Doors & Wreaths going on over at On Sutton Place

No doubt, you are all busy with your Christmas preparations and have little time to sit and read a wordy blog post so let me take you on a mostly "silent" tour of our home all decked out in holiday cheer.

These pictures are actually from last year (which were never posted) but I have decorated much the same this year with only a few exceptions.

As shown below, we have an "awkward" entry with the "man-door" to the garage being right next to our front entrance door.  I never know if I should have matching decor on these doors but decided to go with identical swags for now.

The "glow" in these living room pics make the walls look yellow but IRL, they are actually a toffee cream colour.

Confession time - below is last year's mantel as you can tell by the old white brick (click here for our fireplace makeover) but I haven't quite finished this year's mantel yet.

...to be continued.  I hope you will check back later for Part 2 of this Christmas Home Tour. (click here for Part 2)
