Easter Dinner Tablescape

Its time to do the weekly tour of Blogland and have a seat at some of the most beautifully decorated tables around.  Our tour guide is Susan from Between Naps on the Porch and we send our thanks to her for hosting Tablescape Thursdays.

I'm going to show you what I have planned for my Easter table this year. Our son and daughter will be home and we will also be having my parents over for dinner on Sunday.

Last summer, I got this tablecloth for $5 in the clearance section of Home Sense.  Of course, I bought two! See the bunny pattern.

My pink bunny (Home Sense) nestled in a basket of faux grasses makes a coordinating centerpiece for the colours of the tablecloth.

I tucked in some faux hydrangeas and plastic eggs.

On each side of the centerpiece, I placed some Partylite candleholders filled with eggs, a green taper candle in a glass holder and a little white birdie.

This is a closer look at the same set up on the opposite side of the table.

I used Sundae cups filled with Easter grass and a plastic egg as placecard holders.

Unfortunately, I only have 4 of the above Sundae cups so used some of this green plastic set as well.

This is how it all came together.

I've used these same dishes so many times. (Canadian Superstore years ago) They are just the best shade of green and yellow for Spring.
The green handled flatware was an inexpensive variety found at a local drugstore (Pharmasave) in the gift section.

The plastic eggs are filled with chocolates as a treat for my guests.

This is how the table will look as night falls and we linger over dinner.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a Blessed Easter and are able to celebrate at church and later, sitting with family and friends around your table.

Alleluia, He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

Easter Decorations

Today is Tabletop Tuesday hosted by Marty at Stroll Thru Life and I'm joining in with her as well as Easter Decor Day hosted by Lynette at Lynette's LAM.
Since I have more than three Easter Bunnies, I'm also going to link up with Tam at The Gypsy's Corner for Two or More Tuesday.

Easter Decor Day

I started out planning to show only this Easter vignette on a table on one side of the fireplace but decided to carry on with some other areas around the house. Hope I don't bore you!

Little rabbit dish from Pharmasave drug store.
I filled it with a faux grass ball.
I have some wooden carrots I meant to put in the sides -must dig those out!
Bunny from Home Sense 2 years ago.

A bouquet of pussy willows and faux flowers.
I put faux snow and tulips inside these hurricane glass vases for a "winter to spring" look.
The bunny pitcher was from Home Sense awhile back.

This is on the coffee table in our living room.
Not sure why the walls look golden - they are more of a cafe-au-lait colour INR.

I made this pussy willow bouquet when Mr. Delight surprised me by bringing home a whole bunch of them. (He is a locomotive engineer and spotted them in some woods nearby where his train was stopped)

It is hard to see but there is a dark pink bunny candle holder in front of this vignette which I got at a Thift Store for 75 cents.

"Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times"  Matthew 25:34
This rooster/cross vignette is on a shelf near our kitchen.
The cross candle holder is sitting on Mr. Delight's grandmother's old Bible.

Mr. Delight also brought me this bouquet when he went to get groceries the other day (He's a keeper!) so I added it to the display on the kitchen table.

I really like this Easter "snow globe/egg" with the wheelbarrow and flowers in it. My mother-in-law gave it to me many  years ago.

Apothecary jars filled with Easter eggs sit on kitchen island.

I've "captured" a bunny in one.

I created a little vignette inside this large vase. The boy & girl bunny and their wagon are by Partylite.

This sits on a side table in our dining room.

This blue vignette is downstairs in our TV Room. I got this bunny at Home Sense a few years back.

This is a shelf in our dining room.

I got this rabbit family recently at a local Thrift Store for 50 cents.

Thanks for sticking with me to the end of all these pics of my Easter decor.  Be sure to head on over to Marty's, Lynette's and Tam's to see more!

Tulips in the Snow

Many of you on the east coast have had to deal with some nasty weather this winter/spring.
I must have had you in mind when I created this trio of "tulips out of the snow" vignette.

I hope Spring has finally sprung for everyone now. I'm busy working on some posts showing my Easter decor so please check back later this week.

Easter Fun

Do you love all the pastel colours of Easter?  I have to admit, they are not my favourite.  I can relate much more to the rich burgundy, orange and gold colours of fall.  However, pastels do seem to lend themselves to a more whimsical fun feeling which is what I've tried to create with this tablescape.

It all started with the wonderful checked tablecloth I found at Home Outfitters.  It had so many colours in it and just seemed so "Easter-y" to me.

I created a centerpiece by placing a brown bunny (Home Sense) on a pedestal cake plate set inside an egg wreath. Easter grass and plastic eggs are nestled around the bunny.

A look from the other end of the table.

On each side of the centerpiece, I placed glitter eggs-on-picks inside rectangular glass vases and a vase of fresh Gerbera daisies in bright colours.

See the little bunny "praying" by the cross candle holder?

I alternated my yellow/green Gibson dinner plates on gold chargers.
On top of those, I placed my blue "flower" salad plates and bowls (Safeway grocery store 2 years ago)
Napkins that match the tablecloth were placed underneath.

Another "larger" look...this is another tablescape I did before I had a blog and I didn't take nearly enough pictures!

I'm linking this post to Between Naps on the Porch which is the "place to be" in Blogland on Wednesday evenings/Thursdays!  Click on over!
