Spooky Owl Halloween Tablescape

I'm wrapping up October with this fun Halloween tablescape where I incorporated a spooky owl theme.  I don't usually do too much for Halloween decor so I rely on bringing items out of my stash rather than buying new for this holiday.  I've had 2 sets of these rather creepy looking owls for many years so thought I'd work with them.

Naturally the owls take center-stage on the table.

Below, you can see how I placed each set of owls back to back so that guests on each side of the table get the same view.

These owls weren't even Halloween decor - they were meant to be everyday decor but I find them a bit too spooky for that!

I added some greenery and a black tree (Dollar Store this year) to make the owls look like they are in a forest.

The place settings were done in black and white.

I couldn't resist using these black & white tree plates.  I originally bought them when they were on sale as Christmas dishes a few years back but they've proved useful for many occasions.

I added some beady-eyed mice on the plates.

It's not Halloween without treats so each guest gets a dish of candy at their place.

This black handled flatware went perfectly with the theme...

...as did my black stemware.

I kept colour to a minimum in the dining room to create a more somber vibe.

Two of these candelabras flank each side of the owl centerpiece.

A white pumpkin, black roses and a little house, which may or may not be haunted, were arranged on each end of the table.

Would you be able to eat dinner with this pair staring at you?

Maybe it depends what's on the menu...

...and I think the owls have these guys in mind!

Happy Halloween!

Thanks for visiting!

What a super tablescape! I love the owls, but the mice...well, here's hoping the owls get them!

You have such wonderful ideas, and I'm so glad you're in Canada as we should have the same stores (I'm on the east coast in Nova Scotia).

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. I love this, Lori! Just the right mix of creepy (I'm with you on the owls!) and elegant (that beautiful stemware!). You've taken Halloween in a new direction, one that's 'adult' but still fun.
