Blueberry Bliss Summer Tablescape

I never got it posted here in time but I actually designed this blueberry tablescape for Mother's Day. Now that Father's Day is around the corner, I am thinking it would work equally well for that or any summer gathering.

It's berry picking season and if this inspires you, you could probably substitute any type of faux fruit for the blueberries.

I thought that my galvanized metal pieces coordinated well with the cool tones of the blueberries so rounded up some of those along with the dishes I wanted to use.

This is the end result but let me break it down for you.

The centerpiece began with a galvanized metal house. Part of my theme for the original Mother's Day tablescape was how moms help to make a house, a home but this could also apply to dads if you are thinking of doing this for Father's Day.

I placed the house next to a metal bucket of faux blueberries and set them on a wood riser, adding a few tealight holders.

Candlesticks and a small metal bucket filled with more faux blueberries and a faux hydrangea stem were placed on each side of the wood riser.

The centerpiece items were all set on a white runner and I opted to let the wood of the tabletop show versus using a tablecloth.

The place settings were based on a round greenery placemat with a galvanized metal charger on top.

A white dinner plate, blue melamine salad plate and a white floral shaped bowl complete the dish stack.

Some faux blueberries were added for an extra embellishment.

For stemware, I used my clear wine glasses.

Silver flatware coordinated well with the galvanized metal on the table. The knives were placed on acrylic knife rests.

A simple white napkin was placed under the fork.

These little metal houses with lights inside were originally Christmas ornaments but they made the perfect themed placecard holders.

I printed the name tags on my computer and taped the paper to the houses.

I actually only had various pieces of the blue melamine dishware (2 dinner plates, 2 salad plates and 2 bowls) so I mix-and-matched at each place setting - a great way to coordinate your table if you don't have enough plates in a set.

The addition of faux white hydrangeas create an airy vibe to the dark coloured blueberry decor.

Whether it's for a special occasion like Mother's Day or Father's Day or just a way to dress up your tabletop decor...

...using faux fruit as a theme creates the perfect summertime vibe.

    1. Hi there,
Thanks for your sweet compliment on my Blueberry Bliss Tablescape. The melamine dishware just says "Ganz" on the back. I got it at a local Pharmasave Drug Store in their gift/decor section so I'm afraid I don't know much more than that. I hope you can find something similar.
