•Tweaking is a slang term for someone exhibiting OCD-like, compulsive, or repetitive behaviour, often making insignificantly small adjustments to things, while in a slightly agitated or confused state.
While I have always considered myself a "tweaker" and can waste spend endless amounts of time adjusting a single leaf on a fall garland, I NEVER knew that it was "OCD-like" or that I was doing it in a "slightly agitated or confused state"!
I have to admit, others around me do think I'm confused crazy and can't begin to see what difference it makes to have that single leaf bend forward or backward. Those of us who "tweak" know all too well - it can make or break the vignette or tablescape. Right?
Let me know if you are a "tweaker" too!
Here's a Fall 2008 tablescape that required a lot of tweaking...you can tell, right?
I must admit, I tweak. When we were hanging the prints after painting the bedroom, I could see things weren't quite right...J could not...I tweaked until I thought I got it right...took photos...put them on the blog, only to see something that is slightly askew. It was all I could do to resist taking those photos off the post and reshooting them. In the end, I overcame the urge to "tweak", this time. Perhaps I am sort of tired and that's why resisting was easier.:-)
Sometimes..sometimes not. Sometimes I think it looks better when every little detail isn't planned... How are you doing? You haven't been to Holidays in a while.. The above pic looks great to me...
Sad to admit that I am a Tweaker. It takes the slightest bit to rock my OCD world! Love this tablescape! The amber candles, leaves & rooster are what makes it!
