Gingerbread Themed Tiered Tray

I hope you've had a Merry Christmas and are enjoying some relaxation during these days between Christmas and New Year's. This is my favourite time of the holidays and it's when I can catch up on everyone's wonderful Christmas blog posts that I've missed.

With that in mind, I thought I'd share how I decorated my tiered tray for Christmas this year.  I chose a gingerbread theme which might actually work well for Valentine's or a child's birthday as well as Christmas.

I found these cute quilted gingerbread people at a local drug store in their decor section and fell in love with them. (I'm not sure it will help you find them but the tag on the bottom says "Groupe Ricochet" and I got them at Pharmachoice)

I started by tying a red/white gingham bow to the handle on the tray.

I placed a Rae Dunn "Yum" plate front and center with the quilted gingerbread people in little white dishes beside it.

Then in front of that I added some small gingerbread ornaments (Amazon) in more little white dishes.

And two additional gingerbread peeps are standing on their own.

For the bottom tier, I placed this gingerbread house in the center. (I ordered it online at Michael's before Christmas).

This quilted gingerbread girl is hanging out next to the house with another gingerbread ornament beside her.

A similar scene was created on the other side with the gingerbread boy.

Small faux trees fill in the background spaces on the tray. Candy canes were arranged here and there in the little white dishes.

The tiered tray sits at the end of our kitchen island and the gingerbread people greet us as we enter the space.

In the background, you'll see I've decorated with a few "street" signs with Gingerbread St up above the sink!

Candy Cane Lane is over yonder.

I stuck the signs to the tile backsplash with small suction cups however, it's not ideal as they have fallen down now and then.

On the far wall of the kitchen, sits my hot cocoa bar which also has a gingerbread theme. You can see details of it in my previous post here.

It's been fun and maybe a bit too convenient to grab a hot mug of cocoa from this area during Christmas. LOL

I'm going to be sad to see my gingerbread people leave when I take down the Christmas decor but until then, I'm enjoying their happy smiles!

Thanks for visiting!

  2. Love your gingerbread tray (and your hot chocolate bar and tablescape)! I have a small cart in the corner of my eating area that is my gingerbread area. And we have a bunch of baskets hanging around our dining area that my husband has put all gingerbread ornaments in. For Christmas, I got a gingerbread tablecloth too! Your kitchen is simply lovely!

    1. Hi there, I bought it on Amazon and it is called the Creative Co-op Wood Tiered Tray. They have a few styles to choose from but not sure if my exact one is still available. ~ Lori

  12. So cute. Can I ask where you got your Candy Cane Lane sign? I have the gingerbread one from Hobby Lobby but I decorate my kitchen with both and have been looking for a candy cane lane metal sign.
