Late summer always brings to mind apple season and so I decided to celebrate this wonderful fruit with an outdoor tablescape honouring both the red and green varieties.
We've had some lovely late summer weather and have been able to enjoy quite a few meals outdoors so that is where I set this table.
I began with a green and white checked tablecloth as the backdrop to the centerpiece and place settings.
My mom gifted me with some of these terrific Black-eyed Susan flowers from her garden which I placed in green mason jars at each end of the table.
I filled a long basket type tray with faux apples and a lantern and placed it in between the floral arrangements.
Some sprigs of faux greenery were added to the apples.
Here's the full view of the centerpiece.
To coordinate with the apples, the place settings were done in red and green.
A red/white gingham napkin together with an apple-green one were placed inside the bowls and arranged to hold a faux apple.
I made apple-themed placecards which were tucked in behind the apple in each bowl.
Apple-green placemats coordinated well with the tablecloth and place settings. Red handled flatware was the perfect choice for this table.
A brown woven-look charger was topped with a green dinner plate and a white salad plate. Red bowls set on small appetizer plates round out the place settings.
A side view of the table looking towards our neighbour's yard.
Apple season is upon us and I'm hoping we'll get to go to our favourite orchard and pick up some of our favourite varieties soon.
Then I can replace the faux with the real thing!
In the meantime, we'll enjoy my tablescape dedicated to this delicious and beautiful fruit!
I just love this time of year!
Thanks for visiting!
So beautiful.
