Summer Tiered Tray with Lake Life Theme

I've been on a bit of a beach kick lately with my summer decor and in keeping with that, I've decorated my tiered tray with a "Lake Life" theme.

My inspiration began with this "Live Life in Flip Flops" sign that I got on Amazon last year.

That saying definitely creates summer vibes and what could be better on a hot day than spending time in flip flops at the lake? Let me take you on a tour of the beach vacation I imagined while decorating this tray.

On the top tier, this sailboat awaits adventures on the water. I added the "Life is Better at the Lake" print-out I made on my computer.

Shells and a silver star add to the theme.

This small lantern was elevated to add height to the display.

A blue wired ribbon was folded like a towel and a sun visor from Barbie accessories created the perfect vibe. I couldn't find any flip flops so printed some using Clipart on my computer.

Faux beach grasses were placed on the tray in behind the display.

The bottom tier is filled with more decor items that represent life at the lake including these two mini Adirondack chairs (from Dollar Store last year).

This uniquely shaped pickle dish makes the perfect canoe with an oar placed beside it.  Again, I printed the lake logo off my computer and taped in inside.

A faux candle and some cut up twigs in a metal tealight cup create a little campfire.

The pillows were created by folding up blue wired ribbon into an appropriate shape.

A few Barbie accessories saved from my daughter's toys years ago were the perfect size and look to create a lake story - perhaps Barbie and Ken have gone for a dip in the water after finishing their morning coffee.

Behind the chairs, I placed a little white house which is meant to represent a cottage by the shore.

I printed the "Lakeside Cottages" signs  on my computer and taped them onto each cottage.

I put battery operated string lights inside each cottage - I'm imaging how cozy the cottages would be after a day on the lake.

The lit up tiered tray adds a lovely ambiance to our kitchen in the evenings...

...and I can even imagine myself being at the beach.

I had so much fun putting this tiered tray together for summer.  It was like playing Barbies again!

In addition to the tiered tray, I've added a few other pops of beach-blue decor to our kitchen.

Here's a look at this little froggie vignette I recently arranged in the corner by the kitchen sink.

Previous to the tiered tray being on the kitchen island, I had this tray sitting there.

The sign in this tray made me think that I should be sipping strawberry margaritas all day long! LOL

I'm liking the summer vibes that my "Lake Life" tiered tray is providing. If I can't be at the beach, this is the next best thing!

Do you have a cottage at the lake or do you have some place close by where you can get "beach time" in?  Or maybe Covid-19 has affected your vacation plans?

In any case, I hope you are having a great, albeit maybe a different type of summer, and perhaps I've been able to take you on a bit of an imaginary lakeside getaway.

Thanks for visiting!

    1. Hi there,

Thanks for your kind comment on my summer tiered tray. I bought that wooden sailboat at Real Deals last summer. I'm not sure where you are located but I went to the Real Deals in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. I added the blue glass beads and the print-out of "Life is Better at the Lake" which I made on my computer using Clipart.
