Thanksgiving 2017 Tablescape

Last weekend, we celebrated Thanksgiving with a special family dinner at our house on the Sunday of the long weekend.  This year's tablescape featured sunflowers against a backdrop of rich autumn colours. Our guests commented on the cozy welcoming vibe they felt as they sat down for the turkey feast.

My centerpiece began with the use of these battery-operated fairy lights which were a recent purchase from Costco.
There were 4 in a box for  $8.99 CA which is the cheapest I've seen them. "LED Microdot Lights"

They added a lovely glow to the table.

The fairy lights were arranged in a glass vase filled with faux leaves and topped with a faux sunflower.

The battery packs were hidden under faux leaves around the bases of the vases.

A trio of the vases were placed on a plaid runner down the center of the table.

Below, you can see the cranberry coloured tablecloth I pulled out of my stash. It has a harvest type pattern to it which I thought was perfect for Thanksgiving.

These leaf bowls I've had for many years held the butternut squash soup my mom made for the meal.

The dish stack

No expensive napkin rings here - I just formed a circle out of the stem of a faux sunflower and put the napkin through it.

In keeping with the theme, these Partylite sunflower tealight holders also adorned the table.

Placecard holders that my dad made years ago held the Thanksgiving name tags I created on the computer.

Drinkware consisted of my amber glasses and copper mugs for wine and/or Moscow mules.

Thanksgiving in Canda is always on the 2nd Monday of October.  As such, we still have blooming sunflowers and leaves falling from the trees...

...which made for the perfect accents on my table.

I hope all my Canadian readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving last weekend and I wish my American friends all the best on their upcoming holiday in November.

Be sure to check back to see more details on how I coordinated the sideboard decor with that on the table.

Thanks for visiting!

I'll be linking this post to these wonderful blog parties:
