Romantic Fireside Valentine Tablescape

Valentine's Day is less than a week away.  Do you have plans to go out or stay in? We always find it nicer to stay home for special occasions than to venture out to a crowded restaurant where the ambiance and table decor is often lacking.

If you feel the same way, and are looking for ideas to create a romantic valentine tablescape in a cozy area of your home, I've got lots of inspiration linked here.

I'm participating in a blog hop hosted by Chloe of Celebrate & DecorateI, along with a group of talented ladies hope to bring you plenty of inspiration.  Be sure to check out the links at the end of my post.

I've prepared a romantic table for two in front of our fireplace for our Valentine's dinner.

There's nothing like dining in front of a crackling fire for an instant romantic vibe.

A trailing faux ivy centerpiece was put together to drape over both sides of the table.

Candlelight and white mini-lights add a soft glow.

An acrylic berry napkin ring was placed around the white taper candle inside the holder.

Dew kissed faux red roses were nestled amidst the greenery.

Pairs of decorative hearts were also tucked in the ivy.

Table decor and place settings were done in silver, red, white and black.

Chocolates were arranged inside each bowl and a Love ornament placed on top.

Stemware is by Pier 1 which I purchased on clearance last year.

An acrylic berry napkin ring surrounds a red cloth napkin.

A sprig of the faux ivy was tucked in next to the fork.

The mantel and hearth next to the table were also decorated with a Valentine theme.

More faux ivy abounds here as well.

A trio of glass candleholders hold red heart ornaments and red beads.

Heart-shaped vases were filled with battery-operated LED lights.

I put together this red berry and ivy wreath to sit next to the hearth.

Two lovebirds sit beside the wreath.

On the other side, a lantern was given a heart embellishment.

Now that I've got the table setting all planned out, I'm looking forward to spending an evening here with Mr Delight.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. Wow, Lori! Where do I start? You have a beautiful setting for a romantic table by the fire. Your mantle decorations are creative and pretty. The trio of glass candleholders filled with ornaments and beads surrounded by a garland of ivy and twinkly lights really caught my eye. Then the heart garland pulled it all together!
I like how you artfully placed a garland runner with a hurricane candle holder as your centerpiece amid romantic red roses. Seating yourselves opposite each other made a great photograph. There is so much more but I have gushed enough!

  3. Lori, you always have tablescapes pleasing to the eye, and this one is too. I love an intimate table set near the fire like you've done. The fire and candlelight truly elevates the entire ambiance. We very often eat near our fireplace, though not as romantic as this setting (real life, real simple is our modus operandi in general). From the lanterns to the heart-shaped vases to the trio of candle holders on the mantel...it's very romantic.

  12. Dining in front of the fireplace is something so much more special than a night out at a restaurant. You have a whole room of wonderful romance. Your beautifully decorated table, the roaring fire in the fireplace and the cozy and inviting decorated mantel. I love your use of the ivy runner on your table and mantel. I always thought of ivy as romantic because of how it spreads and grows all over. Your candleholders are such a great idea since you can fill them with just about anything. The red beads and ornaments are perfect. So stunning. I am sure Mr. Delight will appreciate all of the love you put into this setting.
