Rustic-Natural Christmas Mantel

First off, I'd like to thank Cindy at Dwellings for featuring my Christmas Inspiration post at her Amaze Me Monday blog party. I'm honoured to have been chosen from so many talented entries!
Dwellings-The Heart of Your Home

Secondly...Whew! Now that the multiple emptied bins from my Christmas decorations have been put away and the many glitter particles sparkling on my face have been scrubbed off, I'm ready to share some of my 2013 decorating ideas with you.

For now, I thought I'd start with my mantel and fireplace.

This year, I went with more of a rustic-natural look with maybe a touch of glam.

Two bronze coloured reindeer and three crystal trees take center stage.

Tall candleholders for votives and pillars are placed in amongst the pine cone garland.

Two pine cones with snowflakes hang in the center of the round mirror.

Below the mantel, a curtain rod holds the stockings. Mr. Delight thought of everything when he did our fireplace makeover!

When the fire is lit, the stockings can easily be pushed to the side as shown below.

The view towards the dining room.

How is your decorating coming along?

Thanks for visiting!
For my American friends - Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas Inspiration

I am busy decorating my home for Christmas 2013 but I thought you might like to take a look back at some random pictures of my Christmas tablescapes and décor from past years.

There will be no "narration", just a simple viewing.
So grab a cup of something warm and delicious, sit back and enjoy!

It might seem early to be decorating for some but my goal is to have all the "chores" of Christmas (though I do enjoy decorating!) done by December 1st so I can then relax and fully enjoy the season!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you will check back so I can show you what I've created for this year.

Living Room in Fall Colours

With Thanksgiving (Canadian) and Halloween now over, I'm just about to pack up the fall décor around the house.  Before I do, however, I thought I'd show you how I had decorated my living room for fall.

Fall pillows on the loveseat.

You will see I love faux fall florals and have used them in multiple areas like here on an end table.

The other end table is decorated with...

...a ceramic gourd and pumpkin along with a Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin scented candle by Bath & Body Works in one of their lovely metal candle holders.

In behind this chair by the fireplace...

...I have placed some more fall florals on a demilune table.

I love this printed burlap wrapped vase which was a purchase at a local home décor store's closing out sale.

More fall pillows on a chair by the fireplace.
(Tree Print ones are from Home Outfitters last year)

Fall colours always seem to give a room a cozy feel.

Fall coffee table centerpiece tutorial is shown here.

With some pumpkin tureens, colourful faux leaves and florals, the étagère is decorated for fall too.

Michael's craft store had a lovely selection of fall florals this year  some of which I placed in my white pitcher from HomeSense.

It is easy to take a neutral living room through the different seasons by just changing out pillows, throws, florals and accessories.
